I’m trying to build a morning ritual. It’s not that easy with two kids and I usually do it once they are out of the house. But I also don’t fuss about it, if I don’t have the time. The good and useful things always come back. The rest, well…
Almost every morning, I do two things:
Oil pulling for a few minutes
Cleanse my aura with a stone
Incredible, isn’t it? I know, I know. I’ll get back to it in a sec.
Considering some yogic cleansing practices, which are quite extensive, to put it mildly, I’m falling short. I’m not swallowing some cloth, after all. My energetic cleansing has to fit into my daily life and pulling cloth or a cord up from my stomach is a bit of a drag. I’m not saying that it isn’t useful. It probably is pretty useful.
Ok, let’s get back to my practice. Oil pulling has been known for thousands of years (probably) and many people do it. I’ve been doing it for a month or two now and boy, this one is krass. In fact, I knew for quite a while, that I should do it but never could bring myself to. Here is why:
When I pull the coconut oil (there are a lot of opinions about the right oil) through my teeth and I do it with meditative concentration, then it feels like my whole body gets cleansed. Of course, I visualize the oil taking up the energies I don’t need any longer. The movement of my tounge, my cheeks and my mouth in general somehow spreads out through my whole body and it draws the energy from everywhere. I’ve read some people do this for 15 Minutes. I do it mindful for three or four and couldn’t do it any longer. That’s how exhausting it is for me. Even spitting the stuff out afterwards can have quite the symbolic effect, if one wants it to have one.
That brings me to the second - totally uneventful - ritual I do: I use the carnelian necklace I usually am wearing all day, to cleanse my aura. You can probably use anything of meaning for you. First, I bring it down, so that it touches the ground. I connect with pachamama: Laaaammmm; I visualize the connection as roots sprouting down. Then I move the neclace counter clockwise around my body, about five times. Yes, I need both hands to do that. I visualize the neclace taking up “the dark spots” in my aura leaving only light in it’s wake. Once I’ve reached the top, I hold it over my head and connect to the heavens: Hriiimmmm (I know, Sahasrāra officially has no bija mantra, but that is what I use). I visualize a light, coming from the heavens through my necklace into my head. Now, I again go down counter-clockwise visualizing the light from the heavens fill my aura. Back down, I once again connect to pachamama: Laaaaammmmmmm. After that, I cleanse the necklace for a few seconds under cold running water, visualizing the collected energies leaving my necklace. This usually also pulls more unwanted energies out of me through my hands. Sometimes so much, I start to shake.
This is how I make two rather boring actions magical and very intense.
